Re: Announcing New Subscription Tiers!

I don't mind throwing a couple dollars a month at a site that I use regularly to get an ad-free experience, and I will not visit a site that runs ads without using an ad-blocker as I don't trust that every single ad that gets displayed has been vetted against malware and/or exploits.

That said, I do have issues with the current pricing in that getting rid of ads for single league or multi-league without customization costs less than getting rid of ads if you want or need customization.

It's an extra $30/year, approximately $2.50 a month to get rid of ads in the lower two tiers.
It's an extra $50/year, approximately $4.17 a month to get rid of ads if you want customization ability.

Why penalize players who want customization with a higher price to get rid of ads?

i admin two roster only leagues. since announcement one has lost 5 owners and the other has lost 7

im gonna keep playing, but outlook isnt great

it is clear how much commitment and effort was poured into this game......i imagine the creators wife hates it. attempting to generate more revenue is not the problem here

think the problem is that this game is not complete yet. if its a catch 22 thing where game needs revenue to be completed than maybe it could be sold to a development team?

i put a lot of thought and effort into my leagues and did everything i could to get them to 100% ownership.......gone

edit: lost 5 and 8
edit: lost 6 and 10. had 61owners now down to 45....good for a 26% loss

The USFL is usually always full but we've lost 3 already. I don't mind paying but it seems a lot of people do mind.

I just posted the same thing with owners leaving .
The way I see it his this , the game has flaws that the mathletes of this world can and will exploit and until that isn’t a problem , the game is unfair should those type of owners sign into your league .

The other thing is that since its inception the game has largely been free and I know that is what has attracted most of us here , a good mmorpg game that is largely free.
Even those the most basic membership is under $5 , I think it’s the principle for some who have come to take it for granted that something that once was free now isn’t . Which I get .

I also get that it costs money to host one of these games. Do I think this is unfair ?
No not at all. Actually I think the cost is very fair .
But , (there’s always a but) if you’re like me , everything these days comes with a subscription, most are only a few $s , but they all add up , bit by bit.

As much as I love this game I cannot warrent another $5 (which will only allow me to run one of my two leagues).
So after my legacy credits run out , that’s going to be it for me.
As a family money is so tough to get right now .

As of now....no leagues in MFN are full and there are only 32 public leagues.

This feels like the end of MFN. I personally have 2 leagues I admin in leagues seasons 32 & 33 and I have been able to keep them full until now.

Question for JDB????

How many users/owners does MFN have?

Less than 300?

We need a little patience to fill openings and we may have to let AI do it's thing for a season. The way it's looking to me is several leagues will fold due to falling under 50% while several other leagues will get close to that threshold as well.

Once those leagues start to fold, the remaining players will look for a strong league with lots of owners (if they don't quit altogether themselves). It will be a battle of attrition. Good luck Gus.

I'm a numbers guy and there are 32 leagues active right now with a few private leagues not listed (maybe).

32 leagues × 32 teams = 1024 teams

Of those 1024 teams only 716 teams are owned.

If the average owner has 2 teams each then there are 358 users.

If the average owner has 3 teams each then there are 238 users.

If the average owner has 4 teams each then there are 179 users.

I personally own 4 teams but users like Trslick & Amalric7 have over 20 teams each.
