Setherick joined XFL a few times and quickly quit playing 4 seasons going 38-25-1 while going to the postseason twice where he went 2-2.

Setherick shared some good stuff but we had an influx of new owners who went beyond spreadsheets who are much better then and harder to beat then Setherick.

By that point he was just goofing around and not taking it seriously. It's been some time since he seriously decided he wanted to win.

That's some serious Setherick worship!!!

By that point????

He joined the XFL 6 years ago, 3½ years ago and 1½ years ago!!!

And he definitely was into my Champions League where only owners with league Titles were allowed to join. He played a half dozen seasons there and wanted to win it all!!!

He never did!!!

shame that MFN 74 league is dead. if it wasnt, it would be easy to see the most dominant owner of all time was Bryson10. he won title like 9 years in a row without losing and then quit

the game at the time was basically Bryson10 versus JDBs code writing

i looked into some old messages to find his profile

in NCAA league year 2023 his team outscored opponents 837 - 265 and won championship with score of 83 - 16 while putting up 860 yards of offense

these are the only records that remain from the most dominant player in MFN history. i attempted to mimic his decisions and ended up in a title game with him where my team allowed 100+ points & 1000+ yards. my team scored 42 which was a small victory as it was the most points his team has ever allowed

and that was when i switched to RO.......code breaking isnt my thing

The point I’d make is that setherick is an outlier and shouldn’t be used as an example of the normal. He might have used exploit back to an extreme but he was also focused on beating the game not just opponents and went to great length to do that.

My point with that is I think if you look across leagues you will not see as many people doing exploit solely, and if you do they are unlikely winning it all UNLESS they are playing a bunch of AI.

XFL continually runs full, has no rules, and is a hub for owners who don’t want to be bothered with a bunch of “you need to play this way or you got no honor bro”. With all of that said you’d have a hard time pointing out a bunch of exploit ball being played or fairing better than other owners.

I think 70% of that issue is people opinion and the optics and it is not nearly pervasive as it is made out to be.


Just being honest. If you’re not already or have not played in XFL or similar leagues, there’s a reason - you probably can’t hang :)

So can we talk about real issues with MFN and refrain from issues about how owners play MFN since everything they do is allowed (by proxy of not being explicitly prevented, as was built by JDB).


Player generation sucks and needs thresholds.

Default weights make no sense so get rid of them as well as the points

Need new plays

Address speed concerns or at least explain the logic

Give admin more control variables

Restructure the terrible scaling of cost implemented-it seriously makes no sense as it scales up and off the take rate isn’t improved by more then something is wrong. Mostly what appears wrong is you priced your product too high. “Only a cup of coffee” that has been sitting idle for years.

Make positional skills carry more weight

Add the missing stats such as broken tackles to be tracked

Fix power rankings or share formula so we can pick it apart. We pick it apart anyways because it is flawed.

Make players more dynamic and no so static - I.e. let physical archetype determine weight height and stop having all positional players lean towards a singular static weight

Start utilizing your admins respectfully and as ambassadors of your game. You may have created the game, but you have little impact on the community which is maintained via other owners ands admins.
