something bad happened

and now the league is paused until i find a solution

basically, i just learned that clearing dead cap can somehow put a team over the salary cap. i had no idea and i am not sure why. anyway, the Sin City Rollers and Big Apple Biters have just cut their best players who are now on the waver wires. we want those players to go back to the teams they belong to. also, some other teams are now over the salary cap and will release players to get back under during the next sim....so we pause until its fixed

i will share with you what i sent in a message to the maker of the game

hello good sir

i am experiencing an issue with a league that i administering. the league is in its second season and a couple teams have just lost many of their allocation picks because the team was not under the salary cap

i wasnt sure how those teams got to be over the salary cap at such an early stage of the league. but just now i noticed that that after clearing the salary cap of the Hotlanta Rattlers https://agro.myfootballnow.com/team/29 the team somehow went over the salary cap. just took a break from typing this very message and cleared the salary cap for the Sun Valley Scorchers https://agro.myfootballnow.com/team/23......they went from being under the salary cap to over by almost 10 mil just from clicking the "Clear Dead Cap" button

i clear cap for the teams in this league. it is a sort of a free for all league with no restrictions on player assignments that i have put some time into

did i just break it?

i cleared the cap for a new owner of the Big Apple Biters https://agro.myfootballnow.com/team/8 and now realize that is the reason the team went over the salary cap. all of their top picks from the allocation draft are now on the waiver wire

i paused the league for now until i find a solution to put everything back together again. if there is anyting that you can do to help me out here i would appreciate it. is there a way to rewind and reset?

also, can you explain how clearing the dead cap reults in a team going over the salary cap?

thank you. still a great game

so yeah.....please be patient and hopefully this can be resolved soon.......i wanna see if Head Hunters can run the table

udpate: i just hit the "Clear Dead Cap" button on the Charm City Anglers, who already had no dead cap this year or next and it took them from 3 some mil below the cap to 300g

weird stuff

this is reply from the maker......not sure if he completely understands what has happened

You're right, the most likely reason for the teams being over the salary cap at this stage would be some sort of mass player cuts. The AI may do this if a team is over the salary cap with heavy bonus contracts, it's hard to know if it was the AI or not. I think your best move is to do what you're doing and clear the affected team's dead caps.

to which i replied

clearing dead cap is what has caused the problem that i am dealing with. many of the teams who were under the salary cap went over only after i cleared the dead cap. some of those teams are over the salary cap now and clearing dead cap does not change that they are over the salary cap......it makes it worse. maybe it is a glitch i am not sure

is there any way you can rewind or fix? im not sure what to do. to be clear....clearing dead cap is not the solution. if there is nothing that you can do i will ask owners not to claim any players on waiver wire but there is no way to prevent that and it will compromise the fairness of the league

it seems i might be own my own for a fix here

i imagine what will happen is i will make a list of players to refrain from claiming from the waiver wire so that they can return to the team that they belong

hopefully all owners will comply. if an owner does not abstain from claiming one of the players from the waiver wire it will compromise the fairness of the league. then i will have another problem that i will have to fix

any ideas? this seems to be a glitch to me....not sure how clearing dead cap could possibly add more salary to a team but that is what happened

i take full credit for what has taken place and will do what i can to fix it but it seems that i am going to need all of your compliance

Yeah, that's definitely a canned reply rather than him actually reading what you said.
