DB Pass Catch Weight

Does weighting (in player weights) pass catch have anything to do with increasing a DB's or LB's ability to make an interception?

-No, your weights reflect the overall rating you get to view…..Not gameplay. but pass catching does dictate whether a defender picks off a pass. -

Punish receiver is countered by courage, route running is countered by man-to-man coverage, Bump and run is countered by avoid bump and run. There is no direct opposition to the pass catching attribute, but punish receiver and courage are included in the calculation about whether the ball is caught, as well as the placement of the ball relative to the receiver. The DB also has the pass catching attribute which is used in the same way if he attempts to intercept the pass

Does the same concept apply if you had a mediocre WR with decent speed and catching skills of 50+ and a punish rating of 20+ and plugged him in as a CB, he'd instantly get 8-10 INTs a year? I've had success converting fast QBs into decent RBs, so I don't know if we should all start looking for WRs who have any punish skills at all and start playing them on defense. Interested to know anyone else's thoughts.

Simple answer is no as catch is rolled last… still under the right sets of conditions it could be possible. But why?
For the most part the defender has to attempt to pick a pass off in the first place. To do that a lot of factors come in to play. So, imo the overall positioning of all the defenders is more important and this delves towards fast players with relative skills within their position.
QBs forcing quick passes will allow for timely positioning of defenders to pick off throws in to tight coverage despite speed, man, and bump skill that will get you interesting results. But play overuse penalties will drive up int numbers higher than almost anything else in any scenario. As overuse gives rating boosts to the non abuser.
And ints matter but if you want to win games you don’t want receivers catching the ball in the first place let alone taking catches for extra yards. Once you get to the playoffs against good owners slower players will be exposed resulting in an L.
Really the more I think of it due to the lack of a jumping/timing skill here defenders should be generated with a much higher pass catch rating to mimic the ability to make a timely pick and reflect the concentration needed to do so.

WR playing DB isn't a new thing in MFN and WRs have had plenty of INTs over the years.

I'm given a few examples and added Jacob Jeters actual ratings which leads to the fact that WR playing DB can intercept the ball without decent defensive ratings. It led to several leagues making rules about 2-way players.

I had a WR with 29 punish and 20 m2m that I plugged in as CB10 or something like that just to mess around, and he ended up with 3 INTs in only 9 passes defended - seems like pretty solid results. I ended up taking him out of the CB depth chart because I agree that two-way players abuse the system. I guess I think that boosting punish in WR weights or pass catching in DB weights would tip you off on players that could be valuable outside their "natural" position if you converted them into something else permanently.
